Season

When to Cruise.

The Caribbean sailing season runs December through April — winter in the Northern Hemisphere, but balmy and perfect on the water. Trade winds are consistent, seas are calm, and the islands are alive with the season's best events: the St. Barts New Year's fleet, the Heineken Regatta in St. Maarten, and the Antigua Charter Yacht Show. May through November is the value season — quieter islands, warmer water, and occasional short squalls that the crew handles with ease.

Begin your journey in complete comfort with a private jet arranged by our aviation team. From there, we will gladly arrange a helicopter or private car transfer straight to your yacht, ensuring every step of your arrival is effortless.

Questions about chartering in the Caribbean & Bahamas

01What is APA?
APA, or the Advanced Provisioning Allowance, is the fund that keeps your charter running effortlessly behind the scenes. It covers variable expenses such as fuel, food, berths, and guest requests, allowing the crew to prepare everything in advance. Managed transparently by the captain, it's spent only as needed — and any unused balance is returned at the end of your charter.
02How much VAT do I need to pay?
VAT depends on where your charter takes place and how it's structured. In France it's typically 20%, Italy 22%, Spain 21%, and Croatia 13%. Other destinations follow different rules depending on cruising area and usage. We'll always advise you clearly before booking, so there are no surprises.
03What time of year can I charter a yacht?
Yachting has no fixed season and can be enjoyed at any time of year. The world's cruising grounds shift with the weather, offering ideal conditions somewhere, always. From summer in the Mediterranean to winter in the Caribbean and beyond, there's always a perfect place to be on the water.
04How far in advance should I book?
While last-minute charters are sometimes possible, the best yachts are usually secured well in advance. Booking around 6 months ahead gives you access to the strongest selection, preferred dates, and more flexibility to tailor every detail. For peak periods, planning ahead ensures you get exactly what you want, without compromise.
05Where can I charter a yacht?
You can charter a yacht almost anywhere in the world. From the Mediterranean and the Caribbean to remote islands and lesser-known coastlines, the options are truly global. Seasons shift, destinations change, but there's always a yacht in the right place. Wherever you want to go, we'll guide you there.
