New Year's Eve fireworks in Dubai 2026: where to watch them from a yacht

Dubai does not have one New Year's Eve fireworks display. It has several, fired at midnight from points along the coast, and the water is the one place you can see more than one of them without fighting for a spot on the sand. A private yacht leaves Dubai Harbour in the evening, anchors off the coast with dinner on the table, and at midnight the sky goes up in three directions.

The four displays, and where the yacht sits for each

The Burj Al Arab

The classic. The fireworks are fired from the hotel itself and from the water around it, so a yacht anchored off Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim has the display straight ahead with the sail-shaped tower lit beneath it. This is the view most of our clients ask for first.

Atlantis and The Palm

Atlantis The Palm fires a long display over the crescent of the Palm Jumeirah. From a yacht holding position off the Palm you see the fireworks over the water with the hotel's silhouette in the middle of them, and you are close enough to feel them.

Bluewaters and Ain Dubai

The newest of the four. The display is fired around Bluewaters Island and Ain Dubai, the observation wheel, which is lit for the night. A yacht leaving Dubai Harbour is already in the right place: the Marina skyline is behind you, the wheel in front.

Downtown and the Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa display is the one the world watches on television, but it is inland. From the water you see it in the distance over the city rather than up close. If the Burj Khalifa is the display you want, say so, and we will position the yacht where the tower is in view, with the coastal displays nearer.

How the night works

On New Year's Eve the coastguard sets the areas where boats may hold position, and the captains know them well. The yacht leaves the marina in the evening, cruises the coast while the city lights come on, anchors for dinner, and moves to its position for midnight. Most charters run five to six hours, from around eight until after one in the morning, which covers the whole of it without a rush at either end.

Dinner, a DJ, a photographer and decoration are all arranged in advance. Alcohol and food come through us, for licensing reasons and so everything is chilled and ready when you step on board. Bring a passport or Emirates ID for everyone in the party.

Which yacht, and what it costs

Smaller boats of 50 to 70 feet take a couple or a family of eight to twelve. The larger yachts in the Dubai fleet, such as Spectre, Sky Fall and Diva, take a party of thirty to a hundred. How early to book

The boats for 31 December go earlier every year. The large yachts are usually confirmed by early December, and the whole fleet by the middle of the month. Tell us how many guests and the kind of night you want, and we come back with what is still open and one price for the night.
